Dated notes, newest first. Breaking changes get a version bump; everything else lands quietly.
Delta endpoint added
Added /v1/changes with cursor pagination. Several people were re-fetching entire seasons every ten minutes, which is exactly what this is meant to replace. Cursors last 30 days.
Split-cour handling fixed
Second cours were being emitted as separate titles with unrelated ids. They now share a parent id and expose cour on the airing object. This changes the shape of season responses for roughly 40 titles going back to 2021.
Studio roles changed
studios entries carry an explicit role instead of a boolean main flag. Animation production, planning and committee membership were all being flattened into one list, which made credits misleading.
Backfill to 2018 data
Seasons from 2018 through 2020 are in. Schedule times for that range come from broadcaster archives and are less reliable than recent data — treat them as approximate.
Title normalisation changed
Rewrote the matcher. Abbreviations and fan-romanisations now resolve to canonical ids instead of missing. Long-tail search recall went from about 60% to 91% on a hand-checked set of 500 queries.
ETag support added
Season and studio responses are now conditionally cacheable. Conditional requests are exempt from rate limiting.
First beta keys release
Opened up to a handful of people. Covers 2021 onward, seasons and titles only.
